I can use the ROI Manager to superimpose the selection onto my original image like I wanted, but again I am unable to execute commands that require a Selection, because it’s apparently an Overlay.Īny ideas what is going on? Is it possible to create a Selection from an Overlay? Is there a better way to do this? I can’t use “Create Selection” on my binary image since that won’t exclude the small particles.Release notes Known Issues in 2022.2.0b10Īsset - Database: Folder name is truncated when dot is used in the nameĪsset - Database: Prefab Importing gets stuck on project opening when Parallel Importing is enabledĪsset Bundles: AssetBundle indeterminism caused by mesh streaming infoĮditor: Job worker threads will now prefer executing jobs scheduled during job execution, avoiding long job wait -> steal -> wait -> steal chains which could result in a stack overflow. Particles overlay how to#
There seem to be commands for turning a Selection into an Overlay, but I can’t figure out how to do the reverse. Because of this I can’t use a lot of the commands in the Edit menu, such as Clear Outside (which I’d like to do), as I get a pop-up telling me that the command requires a Selection.

The problem is, ImageJ tells me this isn’t actually a Selection, it’s an Overlay. This works great, and gives me a selection of just the larger particles which also populates the ROI Manager. To do this, I’ve been using Analyze Particles and setting a lower limit on particle size that will exclude the smaller particles. I would like to create a selection of them that I can then apply to the original fluorescent (greyscale) image I created the binary from. The smaller particles are “background noise,” and I am only interested in the larger particles. I have a binary image with larger particles and smaller particles.
